How Can I Know God?
Admit your Spiritual Need
We are all sinners; we have missed
the mark of spiritual perfection God desires for us. God’s Word says,
"Everyone has sinned. No one measures up to God’s glory." (Romans 3:23).
What is the result of sin? According to the Bible, "When you sin, the pay
you get is death…" (Romans 6:23). When we reject God’s truth we bring His
judgment of death upon ourselves. So we have to look at ourselves on
the inside and be truthful that we are not perfect and are in need of
redemption. Ask yourself this question, from the time you were 12-13
years of age to now. Have you ever told a lie? If you are honest
with yourself you will probably say yes. In that same time frame have you
ever taken anything that did not belong to you? Again most if not all
will admit yes. Well to state the obvious by your own admission you
are a lying thief that deserves judgement according to God's holy law.
You have broken two of the ten commandments and we only talked about two.
So you like most of us that are honest about the situation are batting 100%
in a bad way. I feel it is very important that we understand that God
"is" Righteous and Holy and cannot have sin in his presence, Holiness and
Righteousness is literally who he is. So he had to do something to
restore us unto him, that is where you read below.

Believe that Jesus is God’s
Solution Since we
can never measure up to God’s standards on our own, God has reached out to
us through His Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17 states, "God loved the world
so much that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will
not die but will have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world
to judge the world. He sent his Son to save the world through him." In
Romans 5:8 we read, "Here is how God has shown his love for us. While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us." God is not limited by time as
we are, so when Christ died on that cross he was not only able to redeem the
past sins of the people, but he was able to forgive the sins that you and I
and our children would commit in the future. The greatest truth God
ever revealed to me was this: He not only will forgive my past sins
and today's sins, but he will whole heartily forgive me already knowing the
sins I will commit tomorrow! That is unconditional love! He has
the same for you, you only need to take the next step below.
Respond to God’s Invitation
Once you have acknowledged your sin
and believed that Christ is the solution, you are at a crossroads. You can
either reject God’s solution and accept the consequences or respond to God’s
invitation to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. In Romans 6:23 we
read, "…God gives you the gift of eternal life because of what Christ Jesus
our Lord has done." Matthew 11:28-30 says, "Come to me all of you who are
tired and are carrying heavy loads. I will give you rest. Become my servants
and learn from me…serving me is easy, and my load is light." His invitation
is clear. All that remains is a response. What do you need to do to receive
God’s gift of rest and eternal life? Just take it! In Revelation 3:20 God
says to us, "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If any of you hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with you. And you will
eat with me." Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart at this very
moment, seeking entrance into your life. And God's Word tells us that when
we believe in His name and accept him, He gives us the right to become
children of God.
 | If you would like to
receive Jesus Christ into your heart and life right now, pray the
following prayer with a sincere heart: |
 |
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died for my sins.
Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I
receive you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me.
Amen." |
Rejoice! You are now a
child of God!
If you prayed that prayer and meant it with your heart,
Jesus Christ has now taken residence in your heart! Not only that, but He
has forgiven you all of your sins, not one remains, not one! God's
Word says, "If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He
will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure." (1 John
1:9). God also promises, "Anyone who believes in Christ is a new creation.
The old is gone! The new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your decision to
receive Christ also means that you are now going to Heaven one day. That’s a
lot to be thankful for!
